Sixth Form Pathways Conference

Back to Overview
Sixth Form Pathways Conference
28 Mar

On Monday 27 March, Year 12 attended our Annual Pathways Conference, a whole day in school focussing on their own individual post-18 career options.

Kamal Ellis Hyman from ‘Aim a Little Higher’ captured their attention by explaining how to build their dreams and not to chase them and not to settle on ‘having potential’ but to aim higher than that!

Students then chose from a carousel of 10 different workshops from building your CV, how to prepare for an apprenticeship assessment, what to study at university and how to apply, how to write the best personal statement and taking a gap year.

The Dance students were joined virtually by Bath Spa University and The Place and our Artists were shown the range of creative careers that many would not have thought of.

Ex-Students from Sixth Form returned to share their tips on making the next big decision.

Finally, our Current Head Students from Year 13 shared how quick the time goes in Sixth Form and to make the most of the support given to them whilst they are at HBHS.

We would like to thank all the speakers for joining us from The University of Kent, Portsmouth University, The University for the Creative Arts, Bath Spa University, The Place, The ASK Programme CXK and ‘Academics’. It really does make a difference to hear about careers direct from the industry and support from different HE providers.
