This November, our Dance Academy will present a powerful new evening event to bring together dance, live music and grassroots community groups to open up conversations around men's mental health - and to show, in the most direct way possible, that no man has to face what he's going through alone.
The event uses performing arts as its beating heart. Original dance and music pieces - created and performed by various local artists and community groups, will explore themes of masculinity, connection and vulnerability, giving audiences a way into conversations that can be hard to start with words alone.
Alongside the performances, local groups supporting men through football, walking groups and peer-support activities will be on hand throughout the evening - sharing practical, low-pressure ways for men to connect, get moving, and find support in their own communities.

The Technology Team held their 8th annual pumpkin carving competition yesterday.
The quality of the carving just gets better and better each year. Students also took part in dipping and decorating their own chocolate apples and biscuit mummies. A huge congratulations to everyone who took part, especially our 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners Amelia W, Jackson C and Ruby W.

As National T Levels Week approaches, the team at Amazing Apprenticeships are hosting a dedicated webinar for parents and carers to help them understand T Levels, including what they involve, how they differ from other post-16 options, and the progression opportunities they can lead to.

We’re delighted to announce that our CASS Team has been named as a winner at the Kent Mental Wellbeing Awards for 2026.
At present we are not sure which award we have won as this will not be announced until the awards ceremony on Friday 23rd October, when we will give another update.
We want to congratulate our whole CASS Team for the work they do to help the wellbeing of our students and for this wonderful accolade.

This week, Year 7 students were lucky enough to have Alex from the University of Kent come to speak to them during their Assembly. Whilst GCSEs, A Levels and the possibility of university seem a long way off, Alex spoke about the links between school subjects and possible university degrees and careers. The students were shown the broad range of degree options; the possible places to study from close to home to those further away and even overseas. It was a fantastic opportunity to get students thinking about what they enjoy doing, what they are good at and how they could transfer this to further education and the world of work.

On Wednesday 23rd September, we were delighted to welcome Sadia Ahmed, Socio Economic & Community Engagement Manager from Places for People, to speak with our Year 13 Alternative Routes students.
Sadia provided valuable insight into the housing, construction and regeneration sectors, exploring the diverse career pathways, opportunities and skills required to succeed within these growing industries.

This is a reminder that Girls' Football Club in on every Monday after school for all year groups from 3:30 until 4:30pm.
Students will need a pair of moulded football boots (as they are likely to use our brand new 3G pitch), shin pads and full PE kit. Plenty of water will also be handy too.
We have so many fixtures coming up over the next couple of terms, so it would be lovely to have as many students there as possible.
If you have any questions about any of our clubs, please do speak to your PE Teacher.

We have been notified that the footpath between Lower Herne Road and the Redrow Estate will be closing from 5th October for up to six months. This is to enable construction of a new path at the crossing of the Spine Road.
We know that some students use this route to get to school, so please allow extra time to follow the signed diversion and do not enter the construction site.

Yesterday afternoon, our CASS Team undertook their long postponed sponsored walk from Herne Bay to Riverside Church - Whitstable.
Starting at Hampton Pier, our intrepid staff and students walked along the sea wall to Swalecliffe before heading inland to Riverside, where they finished after 53 minutes.
