There's definitely been some shenanigans on the field today!
Our Student Support Managers took to the track to join their students for the 100m, and did it in true style with inflatable costumes in their house colours. Their race was won by Miss Mackinnon for Epple, earning her house some more valuable points.
When all the points from the last three days are added together, Kingsgate have increased their lead over now second-place Epple, who are only 1 point ahead of Botany. Meanwhile Mrs Sparks' Minnis have slipped to last place.
It's still all to play for though, with Speed Bounce on the Tennis Astro tomorrow lunchtime and then Sports Day itself on Friday when we hope to see lots of points being won.

The Drama department took some students to Canterbury Christ Church University to see Urinetown - The Musical last week.
The show was performed by university students who not only study theatre and performance but other degree courses too.
CCCU students were also able to support with costume, set, lighting and sound as well as backstage. They held a Q&A afterwards, where the performers spoke about their time on the show, life at CCCU and career prospects.

What a difference a day makes.
Mrs Treacher has rallied the troops and they have surged from fifth to first place! Meanwhile, Botany have dropped off the top spot and Epple are now trailing behind everyone else.
Today's activity is the 100m on the track at brunch and we're told that something special is planned, so we recommend that you get down there to join in and earn those all important points!

After yesterday's penalty shoot out to start Sports Week, Botany have taken an early lead, with reigning champions Kingsgate dropping to last place. Obviously, Miss Lowry's pep talk during assembly yesterday worked to encourage Botany students.
Today's lunchtime activity is Basketball and Netball shoot on the Hard Courts, so make sure to get down there and earn participation points for your house!

Last Thursday, we were very lucky to have Tony Castro lead a Musical Theatre workshop with some of our Year 10 Drama and Music students, as well as those who attend HBH Choir.
Tony has an an immense amount of experience within the Musical Theatre industry with shows such as Wicked, Miss Saigon and Phantom of the Opera. He spoke to our students about his time teaching Music at The Brit School and Trinity Laban.
The day was very uplifting and insightful. Thanks to all involved, we look forward to welcoming Tony back again soon.

It's Sports Day Week and all through this week there are opportunities to earn extra participation points for your house at lunchtime.
Simply make your way to the venue on the day and sign up with the teacher on duty and have a go at the event. Every time you show up you earn a point - this could be the key to victory on Friday!

Our Year 12 Sports Studies students would like to invite Boys and Girls aged 8-11 to join then for atournament style cricket match at Chestfield Cricket Club on Wednesday. This sporting event will help focus on developing the basic skills needed for Dynamo Cricket.

At HBHS, this reflects our continued commitment to proactive, relational and early support for our students and staff, where safeguarding, wellbeing and student support work together to ensure students feel safe, understood and supported.
To coincide with the week, we are really pleased to be launching our new Student Mental Health Ambassador initiative in partnership with East Kent Mind. This programme will provide students with opportunities to develop understanding, advocacy and peer support around mental health and wellbeing, helping us continue to strengthen student voice and our wider wellbeing culture.

Huge congratulations to Year 10 student Izzy, for winning the Soloists in Popular Music competition at Canterbury Christ Church University. This is a fantastic achievement in a highly competitive event featuring many talented musicians from across Kent.
