Year 12 students visit the UCAS Higher Education Exhibition
6 Jun

Our Year 12 students had the opportunity to attend the UCAS Discovery Tour at Detling Showground on the 4th June. This event is part of our CEIAG (Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance) programme for 6th Form students which aims to help them think about all options and decide on their next steps.

Over 100 Higher Education Institute exhibitors were at the event offering information and ‘hands on’ experiences.   At the event students spoke directly with universities and ambassadors about their courses and university life. As well as listening to talks from experts in their field, there were employer and apprenticeship providers available for students to talk to as well.

There were live talks available about ‘How to research what is right for you’ and ‘Secrets to a powerful Personal Statement’. The students who attended found the visit very useful and came away with new ideas and further courses to explore.

Many other interactions (including virtual events) to help 6th Form students research their post 18 journey are regularly placed on their Unifrog account and also shared via the weekly student newsletter.
