Friday 21st June saw our annual Sports Day for students in Years 7-10, ably supported by our year 12 Sports Studies students. Under mostly cloudless skies, there were some fantastic performances from all students across the retro, track, and field events, although we should make special mention to Harry J in Year 8, who equalled the school 300m record in a time of 45.27, Amari D in Year 7 breaking both the 200m (27.48s) and 300m (45.69s) records and Riley M throwing the Javelin in a new school best of 18.80m. We also saw a host of staff attempting to challenge the students in the events and would like to thank them all for their participation and support in the day. Our Year 7 students were treated to a visit from an Ice Cream van during their track session to help cool down from running in the heat of the afternoon.
After all the results have been collated, we're pleased to say that Y Band were the winners with 6929 points, beating X Band's very admirable 5931.
We'd like to congratulate the students of Y Band and thank all those who participated for their efforts and sportsmanship during the day.
