Ella D'Amato visits Herne Bay High
12 Feb

On Friday 7th February, we were delighted to welcome Ella D’Amato into school to speak with some of our Upper School Students. As founder of ‘i Love it,’ Ella talked about her life and journey through business.

Ella grew up in Weymouth and is one of seven siblings. She left school following her GCSEs to work and has been employed within several sectors, ranging from hospitality to retail. Ella found her niche in marketing and accelerated her career at Omnicom in London. She then went on to be the Managing Director at DRUM, a content and social media agency. Following this Ella was CEO for Not on The High Street.

Now relocated in Kent with her family, Ella has just launched her very first start up. She talked through her positive and negative experiences of what she had learnt in business and students came away with seven of her top tips for them to think about.

These were:

  1. It’s ok if you don’t know what you want to do

  1. Be curious

  1. You don’t need to be perfect – but you do need to work hard

  1. People skills is the key to success

  1. Be memorable

  1. Money is not the key to success

  1. If at first you don’t succeed try and try again

Ella’s talk was positive and inspirational and Herne Bay High School extend their thanks and gratitude to Ella for her time and kindness towards our students.  Ella very kindly offered to stay in touch with our students should any of them require further advice and guidance.
