Year 10: Preparing for the Future

In Year 10, students begin to make important decisions about their future pathways. We provide a range of support to help guide them through this process:

  • Assemblies and Guidance: Regular assemblies introduce students to key career concepts and opportunities.
  • One-to-One Careers Meetings: Every student has access to personalised advice through a meeting with our independent careers adviser, Mrs J Laslett.
  • Digital Resources: Students are encouraged to continue using Unifrog to explore career and subject options. Additional platforms include: 

In Term 5, students begin exploring Post-16 opportunities and preparing applications. They also have access to the careers section in the Learning Resource Library.

  • Work Experience: Most students will have the opportunity to complete a work experience placement, helping them gain valuable insight into the world of work.
  • Curriculum Links: Subject areas continue to develop connections between classroom learning and real-world careers.

Year 11: Making Informed Choices

Year 11 students receive comprehensive support as they prepare for their next steps:

  • Advice from Colleges and Providers: Students hear directly from local colleges and Post-16 providers through assemblies and events.
  • One-to-One Careers Meetings: Each student completes an action plan during their careers meeting, outlining their research, goals, and application steps.
