This term, Year 7, 8 and 9 students participated in the Battle of the Bays during their PE lessons. The boys competed in football and handball, while the girls took part in basketball and badminton. Extra points were awarded to groups for demonstrating kindness, dedication, and respect.
The scores from Term 1 and Term 2 have now been combined, with Epple emerging as the overall leaders so far, with an impressive total score of 72. Well done, Epple!

Mrs Giles from our CASS team spearheaded an appeal in school this term to support the All Wrapped Up appeal at Riverside Church - Whitstable.
We're pleased to say that our donations have helped them support over 500 children this Christmas with presents, stocking fillers, a book and food vouchers for their families.
Thank you to everyone who supported the appeal.

Over the last 2 weeks students have been on the hunt for Dave, searching high & low to spot the LRC's mischievous elf. All entries will be verified and the prizes will be awarded next week.
Well done to all the students for working so hard, it has been great fun watching you all searching the LRC

Last Wednesday, our Sports Partnership schools joined us for a Cornerball Unihoc competition.
This inclusive event was attended by 14 teams. Mrs Small said "everyone entered has a great opportunity to play, with the competition being for participants who do not usually have the chance to attend or compete in school events"

In our House Assemblies last week, Mrs Reynolds spoke to students about our journey to achieve a National Nurturing School award with NurtureUK. Mrs Reynolds discussed the importance of nurture, the Six Principles which we are embedding into school life and asked students to consider how we continue to drive this forward.
Mrs Reynolds has already had some considered feedback from students and will be launching a competition this week for students to present the Six Principles in their own ways.

We have placed a permanent food bank donation point in main reception, where we are collecting donations for Food Bank Canterbury (https://ecs.page.link/vKw28).
We encourage those who are able in our school community to donate any non-perishable items to support this vital community resource and we will deliver these items before the end of this term for Christmas and then regularly afterwards.

Yesterday our Year 13 Non-University route PSHEE students were once again joined by Charlie Heap from the DWP.
This time, Charlie delivered an engaging presentation on job searching and finding an apprenticeship. Charlie's wealth of knowledge, experience and anecdotes make these sessions highly informative and enjoyable.
